Geomorphs or No Geomorphs?
Solo Gaming Sheets » Devlog
Hello! If you've picked up these sheets, thank you so much! I hope they have served you well. I'm hoping to get some feedback per this post.
I am currently re-working these - combining them with my other solo product, The Campaign Notebook, into one more polished booklet product.
I am wondering how many of you prefer the roll on geomorphs table for dungeons vs. if simple room descriptions would work better.
Square, circle, triangle, etc. And use that Geomorph space in the text for those kinds of descriptions. How many exits, etc etc.
Appreciate your thoughts, and thanks again!

The geomorphs are hugely helpful. As is the whole project. Really amazing work and thank you for making them. I use them with almost every session I play.
My favorite is Single Sheet Overland Game System
I love the geomorphs. Having them on hand makes sketching the dungeon fast and efficient. with no ambiguity. I love the pages you've made and I would use them regardless of form dungeon generation takes.
I liked geomorphs. I like drawing them on and see the shape of the dungeon take form with unexplored corridors.
From what I remember, you had a good d88 table for them, with procedures for the number of rooms, special rooms, describtion, encounters in your Campaign Notes.
If there is room for improvements, I added a letter to quickly find the other tables for each entry when there is a table or note.
something like these.
Discovery
1) Special Room [A]
2) Special Room [A]
3) Special Room [A]
4) Geologic [B]
5) Geologic [B]
...
[A] Special Room
1) Shrine
2) Tomb
3) Prison
...
[B] Geologic
1) Pool
2) Pit
3) Moss
And if there was a series of rolls is required, a step by step of what to roll would help understand the procedures of generating the dungeons. Maybe it's in your documentation for the solo rpg but I didn't find it in the Campaign Notes. For example:
1. Roll for dungeon rooms and special rooms
2. Roll for dungeon theme and type
While exploring a new room,
1. Roll 1d8 for Discovery and follow the tables
* For each door... rolls...
2. Roll 2d8 for Dungeon Dressing
You have an amazing game to generate adventures, encounters, hexcrawl and dungeons. The procedures for both games are really good.
Have you considered to create a Shadowdark version?
I’ve always liked the geomorphs. It creates a nice specific dungeon layout. It being built directly into the sheet that provides the space for mapping, makes this one of my favorite dungeon mapping tools. Maybe two versions? One with the geomorphs and one with descriptions. You’re very efficient with layout and I know you’d come up with something interesting to replace the geomorph section. I’ve always liked descriptive keywords for specific types of dungeons (castle, caverns, mansion) etc that can be rolled on to create descriptors of the type of room (dark, pit, mural, chains…things like that specific to location type).
Yes please for geomorohs, and can you name it CC0 as well?
Geomorphs, but I could be convinced given an example to look at...
Both options are fine. You're the game designer! I trust your judgment! XD
