Oracle is a rules-lite ttrpg that runs on 4 stats, d20 roll under, and minimally implied classes. Use of polyhedral dice required.

Oracle is meant to be played in a heroic fashion, with fallible and not-so-heroic characters.

Oracle takes place in a semi sword and sorcery world, where science, magick, and religions all exist. Eldritch Gods battle with pantheistic gods, and humans below are at the whim of these cosmic battles, all the while, dealing with a rifted world of darkness, strangeness, heroes and evil.

Your purchase gets you the core rules, with built-in solo oracles, 12 spells, a treasure table, and a gear table. Character sheet included.

You also get a GM Guide, with numerous tables for populating your world with NPCs, monsters, locations, travel procedures, and a simple map.

You also get an adventure location pamphlet, to run your first game with! It is tough, so perhaps wait till they are a bit stronger!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Oracle is a single sheet of paper, folded in half, folded in half again, then folded flaps to the middle, to create a gatefold style booklet. No cutting required.

Aspects of the game, especially the creature system, is taken from The Black Sword Hack SRD:

The solo oracle was developed by Chaoclypse.

Great work and I have been enjoying this!

One small ask. Is it possible to change the map to a transparent background version?

I am trying to pimp this up by adding background color and it looks pretty nice.

Hey Melv! Thanks for checking out the game. I just uploaded a file with a transparent map! cheers let me know if that doesnt work

I was first drawn to this product by the solo tools. I’ve been eager to pick up solo roleplaying again after a long hiatus but every time I try I get caught up on deciding on a system and on world building/character creation to the point where I never end up playing. However, with this system I was able to roll up a character in a few minutes and, with the included map, jump right into the action without getting bogged down with the finer details that usually prevent me from playing. The fact that this system is packed into a few pamphlets is the cherry on top!

So happy to hear this! Thanks for checking it out, and I hope you can have some great sessions. Solo gaming is a wonderful way to fill in some gaps!

Thank you for the kind words! It's definitely motivated by the DIY and simple spirit of OSR

I enjoyed a solo wilderness adventure this evening. Great game! In the Bestiary, Special Abilities table entry 10 is blank. What should it be? Thanks!

Hey thanks so much for checking out the game! glad to hear you had a good time. And thank you for the catch. It should be Jump - have included the updated file, but you could write in Jump OR make up one you prefer and write it in there! cheers

your instructions on how to fold this are very unclear to me. is there some sort of diagram or image to help me?

ah, sorry about that. Let's see: this video is a good visual.

when you have your original sheet, fold in half, so the text is all facing out. then fold in half (this gets you the "spine" crease.
then create a gate fold, bring the the flaps to the center

Looking forward to playing this!
