Yo, I really really like this.

I'm a fan of 2400 games.but they are like 10% too hand wavey. This is what I've been looking for.  But how do the different armors work?  Do they all have the same AV?

Hello and thank you so much!
Yea, so instead of armor having AV value, they function narratively. You "break", or exhaust the armor, to ignore the damage from an attack. This means the armor needs "repaired" or "readied" for the next round or next combat. Its a way for you to get a reprieve in combat

That's what I thought but why ever buy the more expensive iron plate or can that be "broken" more than once?

I really dig the simplicity of this system being a dice chain from d6 -d12. Having each roll be either a failure, setback (which I take to mean a small success w/repercussions) or outright success while  skills have you make those rolls with advantage is streamlined bliss. I’d really like to try this out with my nieces and see what they think.

Thank you so much! I hope it works out and you all enjoy the system!

Definitely check out https://jasontocci.itch.io/2400 to find the "original" of this approach. There are so many related games now!
